Triumph Bonneville Bobber- All You Need To Know

Iconic British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph launched the Bonneville Bobber, adding one more bike to its stable. With the launch of the Bobber, Bonneville series now has 4 different models to choose ranging from the 865cc Standard to 1200cc Bobber. We discuss about the overview explaining the technical specifications and design aspects of the motorcycle below.

Design And Looks:The base of the motorcycle is largely based on the Bonneville T120, as both share the same frame and engine. The bike is designed keeping in mind the retro Bobber styling. True to that, the motorcycle has a thin single seat along with fat tyres on spoked wheels. The Bobber has a look of a hard tail which does justice to the name. The 9.1 litre fuel tank is sculpted and goes well with the overall minimalistic design cues of the bike. The dual exhausts are short and looks abruptly sliced. The black engine head with chrome clutch/flywheel casing looks attractive.

Engine And Performance:The Bonneville Bobber has the same 1200 cc liquid cooled parallel twin engine from the Bonneville T120, but in a different state of tune to suit the character of the bike. The engine churns out 77 PS at 6,100 rpm and a healthy 106 Nm torque at a pretty low 4,000 rpm. The engine is fueled by a Multi point sequential electronic fuel injection system, and has a compression ratio of 10.0:1. The clutch is a wet multi plate assist unit, and the engine has a six speed transmission.

Brakes And Suspension:The Bonneville Bobber has a single 310mm disc upfront with Nissin 2 piston floating caliper, and a 255mm disc at the rear with Nissin single piston floating caliper. The bike comes with Anti lock Braking System (ABS) as standard equipment. The suspension duties are carried out by 41mm KYB forks upfront with 90mm travel and a KYB monoshock with linkage at the rear. The bike also got Traction Control System and Riding Modes as standard. The bike comes shod with 100/90-19 tyre upfront and 150/80 R16 tyre at the rear. Both the wheels are spoked to match with the looks of the motorcycle.Impression:

The Bonneville Bobber is now the only motorcycle in the Big bike category which comes as a Bobber in the stock form. The motorcycle locks horns with the Harley Davidson Forty-Eight and Suzuki Intruder M800in terms of pricing and character. The motorcycle retails at Rs. 9,09,000 (Ex- Showroom, Delhi).
